KADEWE REFURBISHMENT – BERLIN

The KaDeWe Group GmbH is the tenant of the property Tauentzienstrasse 21-24 in 10789 Berlin. The site is home to the "KaDeWe" department store, built in 1907, with nine above-ground floors and one basement floor with a total floor area of approximately 90,000 m².

We are facing the most glorious time of this building.
— André Maeder, CEO KaDeWe Group @ capital.de

The AG intends to comprehensively revitalize the department store "KaDeWe" during ongoing operational business in several realization stages, probably in the period 2016-2023, so that the department store not only reaches the level of other historic, leading urban department stores in Europe, such as La Rinascente in Milan or Galleries Lafayette in Paris, in terms of its conception, especially in terms of infrastructure, as well as its structural, spatial and area design, but even outperforms them as a modern "department store".

Due to the complexity of the construction project and the need to minimize disruption to ongoing department store operations, the AG intends to implement the construction project in several staggered sub-projects.
